B-Cor 2.5 (Bisoprolol Fumarate) Tablets

Composition:

Each tablet of B-Cor contains:

• Bisoprolol Fumarate: 2.5 mg

Indications:

B-Cor (bisoprolol fumarate) is indicated for:

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Treatment of stable chronic heart failure
• Management of angina pectoris (chest pain)
• Reduction of cardiovascular mortality in patients with heart failure

Dosing:

• Hypertension: The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted based on the patient's response, with a maximum dose of 20 mg per day.
• Heart Failure: The recommended starting dose is 1.25 mg once daily, which may be gradually increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily, depending on tolerance and clinical response.
• Angina Pectoris: The typical starting dose is 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily based on clinical response.

Precautions:

• Cardiovascular Conditions: Use with caution in patients with a history of severe heart failure, bradycardia, or heart block.
• Respiratory Conditions: Caution is advised in patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as bisoprolol may cause bronchospasm.
• Diabetes: Monitor blood glucose levels closely in diabetic patients, as bisoprolol may mask the symptoms of hypoglycemia.
• Withdrawal: Do not abruptly discontinue bisoprolol therapy, as this may exacerbate angina or precipitate myocardial infarction. Gradual tapering is recommended.
• Pregnancy and Lactation: Use during pregnancy and lactation should be approached with caution. Consult a healthcare provider for risk assessment.
• Drug Interactions: Inform healthcare providers of all medications being taken, as bisoprolol may interact with other drugs, including antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics, and certain antidepressants.
