Composition:

• Each 5ml of Co-trimoxazole suspension contains:
• Trimethoprim BP 40mg
• Sulfamethoxazole BP 200mg

Dosage:

• For adults and children over 12 years old:
• The usual dose is 20ml (containing Trimethoprim 160mg and Sulfamethoxazole 800mg) every 12 hours for 5 to 14 days depending on the severity of the infection.
• For children under 12 years old:
• The dosage is based on body weight. The typical dose is 8mg/kg of Trimethoprim and 40mg/kg of Sulfamethoxazole per day, divided into two doses every 12 hours.

Indications:

• Chemotrim (Co-trimoxazole) is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:
• Urinary tract infections
• Respiratory tract infections
• Gastrointestinal infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP) in immunocompromised patients
