Forxiga (Dapagliflozin) 10mg Tablets

Each tablet contains 10 mg of dapagliflozin as the active ingredient. Inactive ingredients may include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and others.
Indication:
Forxiga is indicated for the treatment of adults with:
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
- Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) to reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure and cardiovascular death.
- Chronic kidney disease (CKD) to slow the progression of kidney disease and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.
Dosage:
- The recommended starting dose of Forxiga is 10 mg once daily, taken orally, with or without food.
- In patients with renal impairment, the dose may need to be adjusted based on renal function.
- For patients with an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) below 60 mL/min, the use of Forxiga is not recommended.
- It is important to monitor blood glucose levels regularly and adjust the treatment regimen as necessary.
Caution:
- Forxiga is contraindicated in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reactions to dapagliflozin or any of the excipients.
- Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of urinary tract infections or genital mycotic infections, as the use of SGLT2 inhibitors may increase the risk of these infections.
- Patients should be monitored for signs of dehydration, especially in those with renal impairment or those taking diuretics.
- There is a risk of ketoacidosis; patients should be informed about the symptoms and advised to seek medical attention if they experience them.
- Use with caution in patients with a history of bladder cancer, as there may be an increased risk.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using Forxiga.
