Penegra (Sildenafil Citrate)

Each tablet of Penegra contains:

• Sildenafil Citrate: 100 mg

Indications:

Penegra (Sildenafil) is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. It helps to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. Penegra may also be used in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) to improve exercise capacity in both men and women.

Dosage:

• Erectile Dysfunction: The recommended starting dose is 50 mg taken approximately one hour before sexual activity. Based on efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day.
• Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: The recommended dose is 20 mg taken three times a day, approximately 4 to 6 hours apart. The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's response and tolerability.

Precautions:

1. Contraindications: Penegra should not be used in patients who are taking nitrates in any form, as this may lead to a significant drop in blood pressure. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe cardiovascular disorders or those who have had a recent heart attack or stroke.
2. Cardiovascular Risk: Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease should be evaluated before prescribing Penegral, as sexual activity may pose a risk to those with underlying heart conditions.
3. Renal and Hepatic Impairment: Caution should be exercised when prescribing Penegra to patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Dose adjustments may be necessary.
4. Vision Changes: Patients should be advised to seek medical attention if they experience sudden vision loss or any changes in vision.
5. Hearing Impairment: Sudden decrease or loss of hearing has been reported in some patients taking sildenafil. Patients should be advised to discontinue use and seek medical attention if this occurs.
6. Alcohol Consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption may impair the ability to achieve an erection and should be limited while taking Penegra.
7. **Drug Interactions:** Patients should inform their healthcare provider of all medications they are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, to avoid potential interactions.

Storage:

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
